Project Chad Africa

chad-1a.jpgC3 and its ministry partners are answering the call to build 20 children’s homes in Moundou, Chad, Africa. 20 homes! 400 children! Please join us in making this a reality. Help us raise $150,000 for construction, and ongoing monthly support to care for these children.

Pastor Ngarndeye Bako spearheaded Project Chad. Pastor Bako was orphaned at age 2 in his home city of Moundou, Chad. His grandmother did her best to raise him and keep him alive. By God’s grace, and under the auspices of a Billy Graham scholarship, this orphan child graduated from Wheaton College.

French-speaking Chad is one of the forgotten countries in Africa. Chad serves as a critical buffer between the largely Islamic northern Africa, and the largely Christian nations of southern Africa. Chad is one of the poorest countries in the world. The average life expectancy for an adult male in Chad is 48 years. Disease (HIV/AIDS), famine, and years of civil unrest have produced nearly 500,000 orphans out of a population of about 8 million.

Pastor Bako’s calling is to serve the orphans of Chad, and he has returned to Chad and committed his life to Chad’s orphans.

chad-1a.jpgIn 2001, Pastor Bako accepted the position of Secretary General of the Alliance of Evangelical Churches and Missions in Chad. He acquired property in Moundou. He planted a church, which is now thriving. He established a school and micro-enterprise, and planted mango and banana trees on the property. Widows in the church wait, eager to care for orphan children in the community. The final physical component of Pastor Bako’s dream in Moundou is to build dormitories for orphans. He has been faithfully praying for the resources to do so.

Enter C3.

C3 and its ministry partners have agreed to build 20 homes on the property, with 20 children and their mothers living in each home. 400 children! C3 has secured a $150,000 commitment towards the $300,000 construction cost ($15,000 per home). C3 must now raise the remaining $150,000. C3 is also seeking monthly support to help care for these children, month in and month out, as these wonderful children begin a new life.

Imagine where these 400 children are tonight. Imagine where they’ll be when this dream becomes a reality. Imagine what their future may hold.

Is it on your heart to take part in this awesome project?
